BioTE® Pellet Hormone Therapy

BioTE® Pellet Hormone Therapy is a form of hormone therapy designed to provide a consistent release of hormones over time. Pellets are placed just beneath the skin, where they gradually release hormones into the bloodstream.

Amanda Cording, MSN, APRN-BC, has been a certified BioTE® provider for over 10 years and has performed more than 5,000 pellet insertions. With extensive experience in hormone therapy, Amanda provides individualized treatment plans based on each patient’s symptoms, health history, laboratory results, and treatment goals.

Symptoms Associated With Hormone Changes

Changes in hormone levels can affect many aspects of how you feel and function. Depending on the individual, symptoms may include:

  • Hot flashes and night sweats
  • Fatigue or decreased energy
  • Difficulty sleeping
  • Mood changes, irritability, or feelings of anxiety
  • Decreased sexual desire
  • Vaginal dryness or discomfort with intercourse
  • Changes in body composition or difficulty maintaining muscle mass
  • Decreased strength or stamina
  • Brain fog or difficulty concentrating
  • Changes in overall sense of well-being
  • Changes in menstrual patterns associated with perimenopause or menopause

Men may also experience symptoms associated with declining testosterone levels, including decreased libido, reduced energy, changes in muscle mass and strength, and changes in mood.

Potential Benefits of Hormone Pellet Therapy

When medically appropriate, hormone therapy may help relieve certain symptoms associated with hormone changes. Patients may experience improvements in areas such as:

  • Energy and vitality
  • Sexual desire and sexual well-being
  • Mood and emotional well-being
  • Sleep
  • Hot flashes and night sweats
  • Vaginal comfort
  • Muscle strength and body composition
  • Overall quality of life

Individual results vary, and hormone therapy does not guarantee improvement in every symptom. The goal is to determine whether hormone therapy is appropriate for you and to develop a treatment plan based on your individual needs.

What Are BioTE® Pellets?

Hormone pellets are small preparations that are inserted under the skin, typically in the hip area. Depending on the patient's individual treatment plan, pellets may contain testosterone and/or estrogen.

The pellets are designed to release hormone gradually over time, which can eliminate the need for daily hormone dosing for some patients. The duration of treatment varies from person to person.

Your Personalized Treatment Plan

Before beginning therapy, we review your symptoms, medical history, medications, and laboratory testing. If pellet therapy is appropriate, the amount of hormone used is determined based on your individual needs.

Follow-up care and laboratory monitoring are an important part of hormone therapy. Your treatment plan may be adjusted based on your symptoms, response to therapy, and laboratory results.

Is Pellet Therapy Right for You?
